Uni-Tasking Pizza Scissors Will Slice and Serve

What kitchen implement is wedge shaped and has a sharp edge, perfectly suited to cutting a pizza without disturbing the topping, and then serving the slice?

That's right. A chef's knife. Sure, you could waste $10 on this pair of pizza scissors, which will do the same thing. But that's all they will do. I don't know which is worse. The fact that manufacturers continue to market uni-tasking tat, or that gullible consumers continue to stuff their kitchen drawers with it. What next? An egg cracker?

PICTURES: "Secret Hole" Scale Hides Your Weight

Transparent Toaster

This innovative "Transparent Toaster" concept uses special heating glass to warm a single slice of bread. Unfortunately, the glass does not reach a high enough temperature -- at this time -- to actually toast the bread. No word yet on if this concept will go into production. [Source]

Glowing Umbrella Keeps You Infinitesimally Safer at Night

Glowing umbrellas usually light up their shafts rather than their mushroom-like tips, but this concept "Glowing Umbrella" has a glowing parasol to illuminate your way at night. It's lovely in the way that a black, non-light up umbrella isn't, but is only a concept for now. If science and technology could manage to make one of these that doesn't require swapping out batteries every other day (and make it under $50), we'd be in for four.

Tape Measure Toilet Roll

Now you'll really be able to see how much you get through.. The Tape Measure Toilet Roll(GBP 3) marked out in repeating lengths of 80cm, but where 10cm actually measures 12cm in real life, because, well just because.

LCD Digital Camera Binocular

The Celestron VistaPix combines binoculars with a digital camera, allowing you to use the LCD screen to scan instead of having your peepers against the lenses. It captures pictures, of course, and also has video capability. Neither one of these things separate would make my mule kick but the combination of the two does put a hole in my wall. This would be a great tool for amateur sleuths investigating shady characters in the neighborhood. Or for peeping toms. On second thought, maybe I'm not so thrilled by this technology hybrid.
