Tea bags or tea "sticks"?

A Chinese inventor Lee Yuen Qin designed tea "stick" - a new type of disposable tea bags. The production of this item is almost the same as that of usual tea bags, because materials used are similar. The only difference is its design. The main idea of Chinese designer consists in a will to combine two processes: brewing and stirring.

Self Cleaning Windshield

The Hidra concept car from Pininfarina automotive designer Leonardo Fioravanti will feature a windshield that repels both water and dirt, hence eliminating the need for wipers. This windshield was developed using nanotechnology, featuring a quartet of layers to help it do its job. The top layer is made out of titanium oxide that repels water quickly, while the second layer pushes dirt off to its sides, keeping the windshield clean. There is a sensor located in the third layer, while the fourth layer is powered by electricity to run the show. I say, won't it be pretty sucky if somebody breaks your windshield to get to that GPS system inside? It'd be a shame, since the replacement will probably cost you an arm, a leg and a kidney.

Custom Installed Residential Bowling Alleys

By Andrew Liszewski

I’m not thrilled with the idea of owning a house, mostly because of all the added responsibilities like cutting the lawn, shoveling snow and having to be that mean neighbor who always confiscates baseballs and Frisbees that land in my yard. But on the other hand a house allows you to do things like install a dedicated home theater or even cooler, your own bowling alley.

Quadruple layer bike

Stacking up four bikes as shown in the picture is claimed easier for the rider to balance. This sounds like something really against the law of gravity and balance in general. And even some might guess this photo was fake, which the old man riding on this quadruple layer bike, could have fallen in a dismal crash after the picture was taken.

The Rollertoaster is the newest of innovations to come to your kitchen. It is a combination of a toaster oven and a pizza oven. You simply feed your bread through one end and within seconds toast comes out the other end to drop onto a warming plate.

Cool Chair

Front Door Opener

I was carrying in a load of groceries the other day and didn’t have a spare hand free to unlock the front door. Locca has developed a remote system that allows you to unlock the door from a distance just like your car or garage door.

The Pouch Mug at Catching Fireflies

We don't usually use a saucer with our morning mug of tea. Instead, the tea bag finds itself on the side of our breakfast plate, steeping in the cup too long, sitting in the sink, or, on particularly bleary mornings, making stains on our wood counter top. All to prevent the need to wash one more dish or make an extra trip to the garbage. Not a problem with the pouch mug.

Digitus - Beautiful Watch Ring Concept

This beautiful piece of jewelry is a concept by Charles Windlin, an industrial, interaction and 3D modeling designer from Winterthur, Switzerland.

The display on the ring will show you the current time, your personal calendar and can “act as jewelry with morphing patterns that reacts to your input.”

It’s a common issue, you get out of a hot shower, dry off, get dressed and look in the mirror only to see it all fogged up. I’ll save you the scientific explanation of why this happens as I trust you already know. Now if only there were a convenient way to rid yourself of this layer of moisture.

Sure, you could wipe your towel across it, but that never works that well. You could plug in the blow dryer, and that would actually work pretty well. However, wouldn’t it be easier to go out to your car, steal one of the windshield wipers and use that on the mirror? No? What if you had a windshield wiper attached to the mirror? That would work quite well.

Floating Bookshelf

I know that you know that i don’t like furniture with footprints - are you sick of hearing me say that? well i have to say it one more time. i love this clever conceal bookshelf from brooklyn designer miron lior for umbra. it’s made of powder coated steel and hangs simply on the wall with the included hardware. there are two tiny hooks that will hold the bottom book cover in place, to give the illusion that a stack of books is floating on the wall.

purchase them right here.

Angled Corner Picture Frames

Angled Corner Picture Frames are a smart idea, that allows you to display your pictures in a way you never thought before. They have inner frame and outer frame versions, so you now you can use that empty space you never used before. Find them in natural maple or beech black finishes, and choose from inside or outside corner styles through the details website. The design might look cool and innovative, but the price is huge for a picture frame €198,00 and €224,00.

A Steak Toaster!

New electric grill that takes true grilling to the table. With SteakHouse Grill, food products cook without coming into contact with their fats as is true with traditional grilling. It leaves behind neither smoke nor smells in the kitchen. In fact, its vertical position ensures that the fats drain into the special tray. Not only is the food lighter and tastier, but this also prevents the formation of annoying smoke as the fats stay far away from the heating elements. It is kept in a vertical position while cooking by the special internal grill equipped with springs that adapt to foods having different thicknesses, from 3 cm down to half a centimetre. The two vertical plates also guarantee cooking is completed in half the time because the foods cook on both sides at the same time, and without having to turn them over

Nubrella – The Hands-Free Umbrella

How many of you carry an umbrella when it’s raining? Unless I know that I’ll be walking for long distances in the pouring rain, I won’t bother. I figure that I’ll spend more time standing in the rain closing the umbrella and trying to put it in the car than I’ll actually spend outside. If you have a thing about getting wet, you might want to check out the very interesting Nubrella.

The idea here is that you can have an umbrella that doesn’t require any hands, because lets face it, you don’t always have one. The other benefit is that your head is blocked from the elements on all sides. On the downside you look like you’re being eaten by a transparent Pac-Man. If you don’t mind the strange looks you’ll get, you can pick one up for $60.

Futuristic gadget: Mobile encyclopedia on a transparent slide, frame on any object to tell its details!

The transparent slide shown to you here is a mobile encyclopedia. To use it just frame it over an object, such as a building, and subsequently touch on a floor of the building on the slide and it’ll zoom into it and give you the full detail of that building

This transparent slide is just a concept, which is an idea to clam all the capabilities of Internet onto this super thin mobile device. It’ll feature touch screen, built in camera, scanner, WiFi, google map or google earth, google search, image search all in one slim device.

The super slim device shall contain a link to huge databases of information of every object on earth via the Internet. Just simply get any object framed within the slide, you can then zoom into more details of that object, by having your little finger touch on the slide. Other than buildings, you’ll have almost everything, including finding out more details about a car model, an insect name, what kind of food is served at a restaurant and how much, who built a bridge, etc.
If this gadget gets materialized, nothing on Earth will be as easy as using this super slim device for finding information. Furthermore, it’s tied to various online resources such as online dictionary, Wikipedia, thesaurus etc.

Colour Changing Coffee Cup

Smart Lid Systems have come up with a special lid looks like a normal plastic lid that goes ontop of take-away cups at the coffee shop. It’s normally dark brown but turns red if the coffee or tea inside is hot. Gradually, the red will fade to brown as the beverage cools down. It also a sealing indicator which shows you whether or not the lid is securely attached properly to the cup.
