Nubrella – The Hands-Free Umbrella

How many of you carry an umbrella when it’s raining? Unless I know that I’ll be walking for long distances in the pouring rain, I won’t bother. I figure that I’ll spend more time standing in the rain closing the umbrella and trying to put it in the car than I’ll actually spend outside. If you have a thing about getting wet, you might want to check out the very interesting Nubrella.

The idea here is that you can have an umbrella that doesn’t require any hands, because lets face it, you don’t always have one. The other benefit is that your head is blocked from the elements on all sides. On the downside you look like you’re being eaten by a transparent Pac-Man. If you don’t mind the strange looks you’ll get, you can pick one up for $60.

Futuristic gadget: Mobile encyclopedia on a transparent slide, frame on any object to tell its details!

The transparent slide shown to you here is a mobile encyclopedia. To use it just frame it over an object, such as a building, and subsequently touch on a floor of the building on the slide and it’ll zoom into it and give you the full detail of that building

This transparent slide is just a concept, which is an idea to clam all the capabilities of Internet onto this super thin mobile device. It’ll feature touch screen, built in camera, scanner, WiFi, google map or google earth, google search, image search all in one slim device.

The super slim device shall contain a link to huge databases of information of every object on earth via the Internet. Just simply get any object framed within the slide, you can then zoom into more details of that object, by having your little finger touch on the slide. Other than buildings, you’ll have almost everything, including finding out more details about a car model, an insect name, what kind of food is served at a restaurant and how much, who built a bridge, etc.
If this gadget gets materialized, nothing on Earth will be as easy as using this super slim device for finding information. Furthermore, it’s tied to various online resources such as online dictionary, Wikipedia, thesaurus etc.

This Magic Tap fountain actually has a pipe hidden in the stream of water to hold up the whole unit. Very clever and i’m sure it would look oh so cool as a fountain in your garden.

Clock Safe

Safes shouldnt really look like safes, so this idea gets the thumbs up from me. Simple idea, but so sensible. Why did it take so long?

This pen uses a couple of betteries and they claim it can project the clock image up to half a mile.

Record Your Car Accidents

The Clarion DriveEye is a small camera that attaches to your windscreen to record any accidents you might have. The camera automatically senses emergency braking and captures video before, during and after an accident. It saves 15 seconds of footage in its buffer from right before the crash occurred, and an additional 5 seconds after impact.

Microsoft Fans Go Too Far

This Microsoft fan has really gone too far in my books. Who on earth would want to make their house windows look like a different kind of windows? The kind of windows you would normally put into your PC…

Colour Changing Coffee Cup

Smart Lid Systems have come up with a special lid looks like a normal plastic lid that goes ontop of take-away cups at the coffee shop. It’s normally dark brown but turns red if the coffee or tea inside is hot. Gradually, the red will fade to brown as the beverage cools down. It also a sealing indicator which shows you whether or not the lid is securely attached properly to the cup.

Stick Margarine

Margarine On A Stick is a glue stick you can eat. I can see the school kids having fun making their own sandwiches.

The Pool Protector Alarm alerts you if someone falls into your pool. It triggers a pulsating alarm and a signal on a remote receiver which operates up to 200 feet away. The 9V battery lasts a year.
